Letter From The Founder

Portrait-25.jpg

Welcome! I’m Alvenus Hillis, the proud CEO and founder of Mr. Behave and Associates–an agency dedicated to helping clients address problem behaviors and build the skills necessary for independence. My journey with this mission is deeply personal and inspired by my younger brother, Nolan, who was born with an intellectual disability. Watching him navigate challenges and struggle to receive the support he deserved from schools and service providers ignited my passion for advocacy and giving a voice to those who need it most.

Additionally, my own experiences helped shape my perspective, having to overcome the challenges of dyslexia throughout my entire education. I was 16 years old when I recognized this challenge, and I began working with children with disabilities, an experience that profoundly influenced my path. I went on to become an exceptional education teacher for preschool and kindergarten in inclusive classrooms, where I found my calling in fostering growth and independence in young learners.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a focus on Curriculum Design from Ashford University (now Arizona State University). My career evolved as I was inspired by colleagues in various agencies, leading me to explore Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This passion drove me to earn a Master’s in Behavioral Psychology from Pepperdine University in 2021. Currently, I’m further expanding my expertise by pursuing a life coaching certificate to better support individuals from diverse backgrounds.

At Mr. Behave and Associates, our mission is rooted in collaboration and individuality. With unwavering dedication, I lead our team to provide personalized, high-quality support that truly makes a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about our mission—I’m excited for the opportunity to work together and create meaningful change.
